A 34-YEAR-OLD man was arrested at Warrington Central station this morning, Monday, after locking himself in a train toilet.
Shortly before 9.30am the British Transport Police (BTP) was called following reports of a 'disturbance'.
Northern Rail confirmed the train, which arrived from Manchester Oxford Road, had to be held at the station while police attended.
A spokesman for BTP said: "Our officers attended – alongside colleagues from Cheshire Police – and discovered a man had locked himself in the toilets of the train.
"The train was held at the station and the man was removed from the toilet – and subsequently arrested – at about 10.15am.
"The 34-year-old, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of theft, criminal damage, travel fraud and obstructing the railway.
"He remains in police custody."
