CHILDREN’s ward staff are appealing for residents to donate gifts to youngsters who will be spending Christmas Day in Warrington Hospital.
On Christmas Day, Santa will be delivering presents to sick youngsters aged up to 18 who will be spending the holiday in hospital and staff have appealed for Warrington residents and businesses to donate gifts.
Play specialist Jill Holland said: “We’re asking for people to donate gifts to the children’s ward so that the children who are not well enough to leave hospital get a special gift on Christmas morning.”
Presents should be delivered to the children’s ward unwrapped but ideally with wrapping paper – staff have asked donors to include their name and address so that they can post thank you letters.
Any leftover presents will be saved for the hospitals bravery scheme and presented to courageous children who have undergone painful or unpleasant procedures or to children who spend their birthday on the ward throughout the year.
