A MAN trapped in an overturned car was rescued by firefighters and escaped serious injury.
Firefighters released the casualty, believed to be the driver, after he was assessed by paramedics.
The vehicle was on its side in Fiddlers Ferry Road following a collision shortly after 8.30am this morning.
A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene.
She added: “The casualty was not taken to hospital.”
Fiddlers Ferry Road was closed in both directions whilst emergency crews dealt with the incident.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews stabilised the vehicle and made preparations to release the casualty once she had been assessed by medical personnel.
“The casualty was assessed by advanced paramedics who found that she was able to be assisted from the vehicle by firefighters.”
