THE Mayor and Mayoress were joined by the Mad Hatter and Alice at Amplifon Hearing Specialist’s Alice in Wonderland themed 65th birthday party last week.
The business was founded in 1950 by Algernon Charles Holland and chose the Lewis Carroll novel as the theme for the birthday bash during the well known book's 150th anniversary year.
“Lewis Carroll is from the area and we are next door to The Looking Glass Pub,” said hearing aid consultant David Hennessy.
“It was a most enjoyable party, the Mayor and Mayoress had tea and cakes and some of our clients came along.”
When asked about the secret to their 65 years of business success on Buttermarket Street in the town centre, Mr Hennessy said that they listen carefully to their clients’ worries and any fears they may have.
“The customer comes first and hopefully it’s our attention to detail.
“It is quite a personal business to be involved in because you are looking in someone’s ears, which can be quite distressing for some people.”
