AN opportunistic robber has targeted a woman as she walked home on Sunday morning - stealing her purse and iPhone.

The victim was walking along Liverpool Road in Great Sankey at 5.10am when she was approached by a man.

He grabbed her bag and took her purse and iPhone before running off towards the old Sankey Police Station.

The suspect is described as white, 5’ 10”, slim build with a dark beard.

He was wearing a black waterproof tracksuit with his hood up and black trainers.
