WE are coming to the end of our Strictly countdown for the 10 ‘dancers’ who will be jiving, gliding and shimmying their way across the dancefloor at Warrington’s own glittering showdown.
Four hundred guests will descend on Mere Golf Resort and Spa for the third Strictly St Rocco’s charity fundraiser on December 13.
As the day of dancing draws closer, we are taking a peek behind the training room doors and finding out how the contestants are feeling ahead of the sell-out night
Name: Margaret Evans
Age: 21 plus some (!)
Lives: Frodsham
Where did you grow up? Born in Blackpool, went to school in the Lake District, University in Nottingham and then settled in Cheshire with work
Day job: Corporate Partner at FDR Law specialising in corporate and commercial law.
Our commercial team is based in our Bold Street office offering legal services to businesses.
Reasons for taking part in Strictly St Rocco's: An off the cuff remark last year about how much I love Strictly and 'wouldn't it be wonderful to learn to dance like that' led to me being approached and provided me with the opportunity to participate in something different in order to raise monies for charity
What’s your connection to St Rocco’s? As the largest law firm in Warrington we support a number of local charities of which St Rocco's is one and Norman Banner, a former partner at FDR Law and now a consultant at FDR Law as well is a trustee and chairman of St Rocco's.
Secret fan of Strictly Come Dancing? I’m an unashamed diehard fan!
Partnered with: Chris Millward and his partner Vicki teach in their spare time at Cadmans Dance Academy in Sale.
As well as being British National Finalists Ballroom dancer and European and World Championship Representatives.
Do you enjoy dancing? What’s your experience been like so far? Other than the disco shuffle at weddings this is the first time I have ever done any dancing.
Fundraising target: £1,000
Are you looking forward to the night: Yes and no but with apprehension and excitement in equal measure (I keep trying to focus on fake tan and sequins and push everything else to the back of my mind!)
What’s your biggest fear about the event? Forgetting my steps/the routine and completely fluffing it and letting down not only my dance partner but all those people who have sponsored me.
Training so far: I am thoroughly enjoying it although it is hard work and remembering the steps, the routine, the posture etc and so on is difficult and testing! It looks so easy and yet it takes a lot of hard work to attempt yet alone master
Who will be supporting you on the night? My partner, my mum and friends and colleagues from work
How to sponsor you? strictlystroccos-2015.everydayhero.com/uk/Mags
