STAFF at Betfred's head office in Birchwood 'will not be affected' by job cuts following confirmation the bookmaker is closing its Wigan call centre.
A total of 112 employees are set to lose their jobs at the Wigan office just before Christmas.
Unite has since called on Betfred bosses to 'rethink the decision' to impose changes to redundancy entitlements available to the workers.
The union said its members face a 'bleak Christmas and an uncertain future' following the announcement over the closure.
It is also urging the bookmaker to 'honour' the enhanced redundancy terms which workers are due.
But Betfred confirmed positions in Birchwood will not be cut.
A spokesman added: "Warrington's office will not be affected."
