A CONCERNED resident has labelled an Appleton Thorn road a 'new pond' and called for the council to take action.
The road, on Thorntree Green, has been holding water but Anne Hewitson said it has continued to get worse over the past five years.
She added: "We wrote to Warrington transportation and engineering in October 2010 – we have had no success with Warrington Borough Council."
A council spokesman said: "Heavy rainfall can cause roads to hold water and some roads will be worse than others.
"The council prioritises improvements to roads due to flooding where there is known to be property flooding.
"When water is in the road, although it can be inconvenient, it is not classed as a flooding risk."
