A HOUSE builder has joined forces with a popular upcycling charity in the town after wanting to do more than 'just offer cash'.

As part of its ongoing charitable initiative Our Space Your Place, David Wilson Homes North West donated £750 to Walton Lea’s Long Lane Garden Centre.

The Walton Lea Project provides supported employment for adults with physical and learning disabilities at its two sites in Warrington and DWH has pledged to give more.

Steve Jackson, north west sales director, said: “When we became aware of the charity and all the fantastic work it does, we knew we wanted to do more than just offer a cash donation.

“We build high quality family homes in the local area, and are always looking for ways to create inspiring home interiors and exteriors for our customers.

“We also place a lot of emphasis on supporting the communities in which we work.

“The Walton Lea Project creates and sells a wonderfully eclectic and unique range home and garden products which not only support a great cause – but also tap into the huge trend for up-cycling and sustainability.

“We’re delighted to be able to get involved and are really looking forward to showcasing some of the items made by Walton Lea’s beneficiaries at our nearby developments.”

Furniture from DWH’s show homes in Warrington has already been donated to Walton Lea which will be sold at their premises located off Chester Road in Higher Walton.

Future plans include commissioning and buying home and garden products at selected sale sites and promoting the charity’s bicycle recycling service via the DWH website and their show homes.

A spokesman from the Long Lane garden centre site said: “The Walton Lea Partnership is thrilled to be working alongside DWH and look forward to forming a long and successful relationship.”
