YOUNG fans across the town will be delighted to hear a Warrington Wolves-themed play area is set to be installed in Bank Park.
Residents chose the theme in the latest development to revitalise the council owned play area.
The refurbishment project will include play equipment for older children aged 8 to 13 years and the addition of an outdoor gym for adults.
Bank Park has recently seen the completion and opening of a new bowling pavilion, complete with competition standard all-weather artificial greens.
After a consultation with park users, the most popular theme for the new play area was a resounding vote for Warrington Wolves.
The contractor for the project, Wicksteeds, has developed a 'vibrant rugby theme' including a 25 metre zip wire complete with pitch markings, a bespoke Wolfie springer for younger children, and even a mini ticket office.
Cllr Kate Hannon, executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: "The new play equipment and adult gym will be yet another great addition to Bank Park’s fine facilities.
"Just as Bank Park is at the heart of the town, Warrington Wolves are close to the hearts of many residents, so it is very fitting that the theme chosen by local people is one that means a lot to the town."
