WESTY Boxing Club has launched to help deliver a knockout blow to anti-social behaviour (ASB).
The club, which is based at Westy Community Centre, on Bridgewater Avenue, has been set up in a bid to encourage youths to stay clear from ASB on the streets.
LiveWire, along with the council, PCSOs and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service welcomed Olympic boxer Courtney Fry to the centre on November 4 to officially launch it.
It will provide a base for youngsters to exercise, learn new skills and socialise.
Fry, who competed as a light heavyweight at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, led a question and answer session before demonstrating his skills to more than 30 children.
Boxers and volunteers from Phoenix Fire Boxing Club also joined in and executed their technique under the watchful eye of Fry and LiveWire mascot Jet.
Sessions are open to 6-17 year olds.
