AN APPEAL for Christmas presents for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children is now underway.
Smart Storage’s annual Christmas Toy Appeal is now ongoing, with the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust near Lymm being this year’s beneficiaries.
The farm will host 25 Christmas parties for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children – including a visit to Santa’s grotto where they receive bags of presents.
Helen Crowther from the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Smart Storage has chosen us as a beneficiary of their Christmas Toy Appeal.
“This year we will provide 25 Christmas parties to groups of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the region here at our Cheshire site, children who may not be able to enjoy the fun of Christmas this year for many reasons and it’s our privilege to be able to provide them with memories of a special Christmas which will stay with them forever.
“An important part of this is their visit to Santa in our amazing grotto – each and every child leaves the Adventure Farm with a bag full of carefully matched presents which is why this appeal is absolutely vital.
“We hope the wonderful Guardian readers will continue to support the Smart Storage Christmas Toy Appeal and help us to sprinkle some festive magic in the lives of some very special children.”
Toys will ideally be new or nearly new and can be dropped at Smart Storage on Lythgoes Lane, the Warrington Guardian offices or the Halliwell Jones.
Appeal coordinator Paul Whittaker, from Smart Storage, said: “Only a few days in the appeal is already gathering speed – 2015 is going to be a fantastic year and hopefully a record breaker as we are aiming to better the 5,000 toys collected last year.”
