ARMED response officers have been on patrol at busy hotspots in Warrington in the wake of the Paris attacks.
Since the targeted killings in the capital city of France on Friday, Cheshire Police have confirmed that there has been an increased police presence in certain areas of the town.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "We routinely have armed response officers on patrol however, over the weekend these officers had a greater presence in places where there is a high footfall as they conducted foot patrols to reassure residents in busy areas following the Paris attacks."
One shop worker, who has asked to remain anonymous, said he had seen armed officers on patrol in Golden Square shopping centre over the past two days.
