A TRAFFIC light was damaged after a vehicle transporter fire on Liverpool Road.
The alarm was raised at 10.45pm on Monday near the PQ Corporation building.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman added: "The car transporter was well alight when the crew arrived and one member had to wear breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.
"Highways were informed due to damage to the traffic light and police were also informed to arrange for the vehicle to be removed."
It is not thought anyone was injured and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
