SIX months is a long time in politics.
Ever since being elected as the youngest member of Stockton Heath Parish Council in May, Jonathan Levy has not looked back.
Despite the added responsibility, the 24-year-old, from Appleton, is enjoying his time as one of the parish councillors in the 'thriving' village.
The Conservative member said: "I was delighted and quite surprised to be elected onto Stockton Heath Parish Council in May this year, serving the Lumb Brook ward.
"As the youngest member of the parish council, I've been warmly welcomed.
"As parish councillors, we're expected to comment on a variety of matters including maintenance, parking, planning, planting and supporting events.
"I think it's vital to keep an ear to the ground and in my role on the village committee – I'm currently working to create a welcome pack for new businesses, setting out the council's planning regulations related to signage, A-boards and shutters, while emphasising that Stockton Heath village is a conservation area.
"Despite being involved in politics for many years, before my election I hadn't realised how complex these matters can be.
"Parking is a particularly challenging issue and I'd encourage residents to comment on the parish council's parking review which can be found online."
