THE DEADLINE for entries in to a competition that will see one youngster’s artwork displayed on a town centre shop front has been extended by a week.
Youngsters are being asked to design a poster for Warrington Disability Partnership’s upcoming 25th birthday and to celebrate their status as the Warrington Guardian’s charity of the year 2016.
The winning entry will be featured on a shop front in Golden Square Shopping Centre throughout 2016 and the deadline for entries has been extended by a week due to popular demand.
Under 18s are being asked to get creative on a piece focussing on what disabled people can do rather than can’t – for example sports, working, shopping or just going about their day-to-day life.
The new closing date for entries is November 27, and posters will then be divided into categories of under seven, 7-11 and 11-18.
Three posters from each category will be shortlisted with a winner from each group and one overall winner – all shortlisted entries will be made into large posters which will be displayed around Warrington.
All entries should include name, age, school or college and home address.
Send entries to Janis Williams, Warrington Disability Partnership, Centre for Independent Living, Beaufort Street, Warrington, WA5 1BA.
For more information call Janis on 240 064.
