A TEAM of volunteers have constructed a Christmas home for reindeer at an activity centre for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children.
Volunteers from housing developer Lovell cleared out a barn at the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust near Lymm and used hay bales and planks to create the reindeer centre, as well as collecting and distributing Christmas decorations to transform the 10 acre site into a winter wonderland.
The charity hosts holiday and other activities for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children across the North West and is now welcoming parties of children to their festive attractions – which includes an inflatable snow globe, donkeys and a grotto.
Children’s Adventure Farm Trust head of operations Tom Farrington said: “The Lovell volunteers are a great bunch of people, they worked hard and were a pleasure to have here.
“Thanks to their help I’m a week ahead with my preparations for our Christmas fun days which is always a huge task – we’re extremely grateful for their support.
300 children are set to visit the farm this Christmas.
Rebecca Moore, sales and marketing coordinator at Lovell, said: “We loved helping out at the Adventure Farm – it’s a special place which makes a huge difference to children’s lives.”
