A GROUP of eight battled the elements to tackle Mount Snowdon for Children in Need.
Four friends and their boyfriends were looking to raise £1000 for the charity as they completed the 3000ft climb in five hours and 54 minutes on Saturday.
Padgate resident and climber Luke Neary, 25, said: “We faced some very severe weather conditions including rain, sleet, hailstone, very strong winds, very low temperatures and extreme lack of visibility – but it was all worth it as we have currently raised around £500 but we are hoping for that amount to keep rising.”
“Children in Need is on and we all wanted to do something for that.
“One of the girls came up with the idea to climb Snowdon and it seemed to be a good challenge.
“We all feel quite strongly that they’re a worthy charity and you see plenty of stuff about it.”
