AFTER a record-breaking collection in 2014, Smart Storage’s annual Christmas Toy Appeal is back for a 10th year.

The appeal aims to ensure that every child in Warrington gets a present at Christmas time, with last year’s donations reaching a grand total of 5,000 toys.

Donations will support charities including JUMP, NSPCC Warrington and the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Comedian John Thomson, who is a patron of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, said: “It’s my absolute pleasure to help launch this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal.

“What better way to acknowledge the fact that some children aren’t as fortunate as others, especially at this time of year, a fact we often take for granted.

“So put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas and please donate generously.”

Toys can be dropped off at Smart Storage on Lythgoes Lane from 8am-6pm between Monday and Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-2pm on Sunday.

Appeal organiser Paul Whittaker said: “Last year was amazing – the people of Warrington yet again showed that even in these economically difficult times that they are willing to dig deep to help those less fortunate.

“Warrington collected a record 5,000 toys last year and we are hoping for another fantastic response during this winter’s Smart Storage Toy Appeal.”
