I always call it 'Pink Eye' roundabout - it's also called Sankey Green Island.
It comes at the end of a couple of cyclewaus, including the one I use from Sankey.
There's nothing more fun than blazing down the cyelway past standing traffic during rush hour.
And then you get to the rounabout.
The cycleway takes you round to the pedestrian crossings.
For the town centre route you have to stop and wait for the green man four times.
All the cars go streaming past you - and any cyclists you have overtaken catch up with you!
Going from the cycleway to the road is not possible at the rounabout as it involves crossing several lanes.
And cycling on the road instead of the cycleway does not feel safe given you need to use the outside line of a 40mph dual carriageway for probably half a mile.
What can be done about this?
Probably not much - it's just another, daily reminder that our roadsystem has been historically built for cars, and as long as that is the case, people will be put off cycling.
