A RADIO DJ is cycling in the first Cuban cycle challenge for charity.
Derek Hatton, a DJ for Century FM, is a keen supporter of the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity, is taking part in the 350km cycle from coast to coast across Cuba.
The DJ, who lives in Lymm, started raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care to give something back to the charity, after they cared for his father who died of lung cancer just over a year ago.
In September, he took on the gruelling challenge of cycling from Berlin to Poland, and raised £10,000.
Derek said: "I took part in the event to say thank you to Marie Curie Cancer Care for the support we received and also to raise awareness about the charities work.
"The thing about Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses is that they are looking after people who are in the last weeks and days of their lives."
