PUPILS currently in year nine, across the Warrington area were invited to attend Way Ahead careers evening to give them a flavour of the various careers available, and the minimum educational standards required, writes Chris Manning.
I interviewed Hollyoaks star Carly Stenson who was signing autographs and is a major supporter of the event, and asked her what she thought of the event on the whole.
Carly commented: "Today has been very successful.
"We have had a good response and everybody is being very positive about Way Ahead and I would encourage the youth of Warrington to support it.
"Many people have been here and are showing a lot of enthusiasm and interest. I've seen a lot of people walking away looking like they have a better idea of what they want to do in the future."
I asked her what advice she could give to people who could not make this event. She said: "They could log on to the website, which is very accessible and easy to use, and browse through the careers page."
I think the Way Ahead careers evening was a major success.
Personally speaking, I thought that I got a lot out of it, as there was a lot of friendly staff who devoted their time to advising me about my future which was very encouraging and helpful.
