EXPLORER Scouting in Warrington gives teenagers aged 13 to 18 the chance to try a range of activities, including expedition planning, guest speakers, camping and hiking, writes Jennifer Gibson.
With eight units across Warrington, there is the opportunity to try new activities every week.
Explorers bring teenagers together in unlikely circumstances. For example, when two groups of explorers spent their Tuesday evening ballroom dancing.
Also, on April 22, Warrington Explorers showed their patriotic side by joining Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in participating in Warrington's annual St George's Day parade.
As scouting is in the midst of its centenary year, lots of one-off camps and activities to celebrate 100 years of scouting are taking place. It could not be a better time to explore new interests.
