A BEWSEY gym co-owner believes consistency and moderation are key components to ensuring fitness enthusiasts avoid a 'summer panic' on the road to getting the body they dream of.
Sukh Sidhu, who co-owns CrossFit Warrington, based on Hoyle Street, admits year-long commitment is required to allow gym-goers to reach their goals.
But he is keen to offer his advice to anybody unsure over which steps to take to reach the next level.
"The key is consistency and moderation throughout the year," he said.
"The tendency to do nothing all year round then panic for summer can lead to some unhealthy methods for fat loss.
"If you're consistent year round and stay in relatively good shape you'll have less to do when summer approaches to achieve that lean toned physique that you want."
However, he insists it is crucial to give both the body a break and tastebuds a treat, as long as it is in moderation.
"Nowadays nearly everyone has an unhealthy relationship with food because of all the fad diets that tell people they have to deprive themselves of the foods they enjoy," he said.
"Take a flexible approach to the way you eat – 80-90 per cent should be based around meats, vegetables and fruits, with 10-20 per cent being whatever you want.
"As long as you burn more energy than you consume you will lose fat."
The gym has increased the number of trainers to two per class to assist members further.
"While big commercial gyms put less and less emphasis on the quality of coaching, in some cases replacing trainers with virtual classes led by TV screens, we want to buck that trend and differentiate ourselves," added Sukh.
