My attempt to cycle round everywhere mentioned on the Guardian district pages began this morning!

08.07am Stephen has started well. Penketh, Great Sankey and Westbrook already crossed off the list but I am dreading the trip to Burtonwood.

09.12am I am in Winwick having made is through Burtonwood. Am currently eating the breakfast I packed on a table outside the Swann pub in the village.

10.11am Been to Croft and Culcheth. I stopped and lady cyclist to chat with her.

On my way to Risley the U lock fell off my bike and I caught my foot and nearly caused a fall.

11.15am Now in Thelwall. Dying for the loo but there is nowhere to go!!

I have lots of aches and pains but am making good time. Going to eat in Lymm but smelling pretty bad.

Don't forget to give Stephen a beep if you see him riding by!!

11.43am Hooray! I took my helmet off for the first time and my hair was in the shape of three ridges like a helmet.

I'm dreading the thought of cycling back out of Lymm.

12.01pm Left to go is Stockton Heath, Appleton, Orford, Longford, Howley, Latchford, Wilderspool, Fairfield, Bewsey, Whitecross and Dallam.

12.12pm Ordered an Italian platter for lunch. It is high fat and high protein which is probably a bad idea. But I am a fatty.

3.40pm I'm back at the office, knackered but happy. My last few texted updates weren't recieved so there's beena bit of a gap. Suffice to say I finished at 3.05pm in Whitecross and there should be an article in the paper about the trip soon.
