Many moons ago I tried to get round town in a day without using a car - now I'm going to do it using only a bike.
Back in the heady days of 2005 when I was made transport reporter I used buses, trains, lifts and my legs to see if I could visit everywhere on the Guardian's district pages in eight hours.
I failed despite spending a couple of extra hours on the job.
I'm going to see if I can use my bike to get everywhere, in an unspecified time limit, this Thursday.
I'm going to try and call back to the officer so they can put updates on my blog, so you can watch live as the fiasco unfolds.
I've never ridden more than 20 miles in day and I'm totally unfit, but hey, let's see what happens!
The end result should be in the paper sometime.
And if you see me on streets, please be sure to give a cheery wave - I think I'll need it.
