Eveyone's first question when I say I've started cycling into work is 'how long does it take?'.
Most of the time you don't really notice the time and just enjoy the ride.
At first I was up around 45 minutes but that was mainly because I went on the pavement quite a bit.
Generally it's now around 30 to 35 minutes.
And this morning I decided to go pretty much as fast as I could.
My cardiovascular fitness is still appalling so I didn't get as much out of my legs as I could have.
And the interuptions of traffic lights etc mean a specific time is never going to mean that much.
But I still managed 26 mins 11 secs, which I was pleased with for the distance of 6.7 miles.
That's very weak compared to proper cyclists.
I read in a cycling magazine they do 10 mile time trials in 25mins to 30mins or so.
Bu driving to work, and that's before before the peak traffic hour, used to take me 20 minutes - so I'm not far off a pretty important landmark.
