THE alcohol-free zone proposed for the park around the Tim Parry Community Centre off Wroxham Road in Great Sankey could be in force by the beginning of July.
Clr Liz Smith, (LD), Sankey South, said that its introduction had been delayed while legal technicalities were sorted out with the borough council.
Both Great Sankey Parish Council and west Warrington police support the proposal.
Alcohol-free zones give police the power to arrest and fine drinkers who do not hand over their booze when asked by a police officer.
