Charity helps former student fund volunteering trip
A COLLEGE charity is helping an former student work with underprivileged children in Peru.
James Jennion, of Padgate, is to receive £150 from the Priestley Education & Training Trust to pay for his flights to South America.
“We will be going to an impoverished area to teach in schools and help the people to change their own lives and communities," said James, aged 20.
He will organise transportation for volunteers and coordinate the trip.
Get fit in new gym
TWO personal trainers have opened a gym to help people get fit.
Chris Rogers and Jonny Rooney opened Inside Out Fitness last week and will provide a range of daily fitness classes for all ages, including boot camps, boxfit and weights sessions in Evans House, Orford. Gym owners Chris and Jonny said: “This is a massive opportunity for us and we’re going to make the most of it by helping as many people as possible improve their health and fitness."

Woman honoured
A CHARITY champion has been recognised for her dedication to raising awareness of the importance of heart health, basic life support and defibrillators.
Angela Morris from Northwest SADS UK has been awarded the highest level Gold Cardiac Smart Award which reflects her commitment to promoting life-saving skills and increasing the number of people taught in these skills.
Angela has been working for the charity for more than 14 years since the sudden and unexpected death of her son Colin, who died aged just 18 from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome).

Festival set to return
THE arrival of June means only one thing — the return of Orford Park festival.
There will be plenty to do including fairground rides, sporting activities and music shows at Orford Park on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm for an afternoon of fun.
There will also be a 1km health walk, face painting, birds of prey display, a climbing wall and drumming performance workshop.
Families and children taking part in the 1km health walk will be joined by familiar faces Wolfie, Iggle Piggle, Peppa Pig and Ben 10 and are invited to wear fancy dress if they wish.
Triathlon training
A TRAINING session for triathlon events for beginners is being held.
The fun, informal training session is designed to prepare for a number Go Tri triathlon events being held across the borough and organised by LiveWire.
The free session takes place in the foyer of Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub from 5.30pm until 6.30pm on June 8.
