My spatial awareness is written all over my body in numerous cuts and bruises.
I bump into stuff and myself all the time.
I think I have what read scientists call a 'feminine brain' - to put it crudely, I can rabbit away, but I can't park a car.
In fact I'm banned from driving company cars after three "car related incidents" in a month.
Reversing the editors car into a another staff car in the company car park, two minutes after joking his keys would be safe with me, was probably the low point.
So being a novice bike rider is not easy.
Rod King from Warrignton Sfatye Campaign recommended a book on how to cycle safely but I didn't read it and unwisely went ahead anyway.
Do not follow my example! I'm now boning up on good cycling practice.
My top dangerous moments so far include:
* Trying to go round the Eight Towers rounabout in Widnes in the inside lane on the way home, just to see what it was like.
It was terrifying and stupid. Lesson learned.
* Going between the kerb and a lorry this morning at Sankey roundabout while the lights were red, then having it overtake me.
Have you ever shared a lane with a HGV? It's like being in a single bed with Vanessa Feltz.
Strangely thrilling but fraught with danger.
* Trying to dodge in front of cars as the cycleway goes on the pavement at Crosfields roundabout about a week ago.
I was tired and fed up with waiting for the green man to cross. But it was dangerous and I should have waited.
And my top danger spots are:
* The turn into the bus station on Sankey Street then Bold Street.
The bus station entrance involves too many long vehicles swinging about on a narrow road for my liking, and the pot holes on Bold Street are so awful, and the adjoining junctions so numerous, that it feels like an accident waiting to happen.
* The bit of road by the Cuerdley Cross Pub as you leave and enter Warrington.
Cars fly past in both directions as they either start of leave two lanes, and the road has a nasty kink in it, especially in the Widnes bound direction.
I usually go on the pavement at this spot.
* The lights as you go over the bridge by Ineos and either turn right onto towards Bank Quay or go straight ahead to Sankey Street. The cycle lane suddenly disappears and the road narrows, at a spot where motorists often jump the lights.
