MEMBERS of a Bewsey gym were put through their paces with a 'brutal' General Election workout following the Warrington South result.
CrossFit Warrington, based on Hoyle Street, put on a workout linked to the number of votes separating Conservative winner David Mowat and Labour's runner-up Nick Bent.
With 2,750 votes separating the pair, gym co-owner Sukh Sidhu revealed a workout made up of the figure between the politicians.
A 2,750-rep partner workout was created, in which members battled through sets of 100 squats, 100 kettlebell swings and 150 skipping double-unders.
Around 30 people took part in the workout on May 9 but by the end very few were still standing.
"It was a brutal workout and people were sore the next day," said Mr Sidhu, aged 28.
"Some people struggled getting up their stairs the next day but even though it was challenging, we have hard workers here and they did brilliantly.
"It was nice to do an election-themed workout and gave everyone a bit of a buzz around the gym, while raising awareness of the elections."
Members may have just recovered but the gym already has its eyes on a similar workout following the 2020 General Election.
"We will definitely be doing the workout again in 2020 - I can't wait," added Mr Sidhu.
The gym is set to celebrate its two-year anniversary in July.
