LANCASHIRE team champions King and Queen are about to set out on the trail of crown green bowls' two most prestigious trophies on Sunday.

Their quest begins in the British Crown Green Team Championships at Irlam Steel, with games starting at 11am.

Their first-round opponents will be Derbyshire champions Marehay from Ripley.

Success against Marehay will pitch King against Middleton side Tonge, Greater Manchester or Cannock outfit Chadsmore Progressive in the second round.

Then King will play in the British Team Championship one-day event at Rylands Recreation Ground in Warrington on April 29, with games commencing at 9.30am.

They are drawn to play Cumbria champions Lindal in round one and, if successful, either Marehay or Isle Of Man champions Onchan in round two.

On Sunday, players are to meet in the pub car park at 10.10am prompt.

Dress code should be strictly adhered to.
