THE council could consider 'enforcement action' if the land owner of a travellers site in Walton does not provide the required supporting information for a planning application.
A fresh application was drawn up for the land, on Warrington Road, but it has been deemed 'not sufficient enough' by the council, meaning action could be taken.
The site is occupied by settlers, although their 10-year permission to stay there expired in December, 18 years after they came onto the land, which has sparked anger among residents and Walton Parish Council.
Cllr Paul Kennedy (Hatton, Stretton and Walton) has previously raised sanitation concerns for the site and admits he sympathises with residents.
"I said last year that their application lacked detail and yet again they have put in a lack of detail," he said.
"They have been on the site for 18 years but we need to have a level playing field - if people are not prepared to give us information then a decision will go against him.
"It is just not fair - all I want is for there to be a fair process."
The council is now waiting to be supplied with the additional information which could lead to the application being processed.
"Although we have received a request for a planning application, the information provided was not sufficient enough and we have not been able to process the application," said a council spokesman.
"We have requested additional supporting information - if the information that we have requested is not submitted we may potentially consider enforcement action."
