A LIVE Christmas tree has been planted in Longbarn.
National land management charity the Land Trust donated the tree to Longbarn Residents’ Association which planted it on Harpers Road during a special ceremony.
Mary Doyle, from the trust, said: “The Land Trust prides itself on making a positive contribution to communities across the country by promoting the benefits of green spaces that enhance health and wellbeing.
“We were delighted to be able to donate the tree for the benefit of residents at Longbarn and enjoyed the special community ceremony to mark the occasion.”
Geoff Orange, chairman of Longbarn Residents’ Association, said: “This demonstrates the excellent working relationship we have with the Land Trust. When the tree is illuminated at Christmas Longbarn will be improved positively.”
