A NEWTON estate was the centre of a high profile campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.
Merseyside Police carried out high visibility patrols around the Trees Estate on March 16 and 17 to act as a deterrent and reassure residents and businesses.
During the two days, police carried out a number of checks on vehicles and under age drinking.
As a result of the campaign: l 57 alcohol units seized.
l There were 27 vehicles stop-checked and two vehicles were seized as the cars were uninsured.
l One driver was given a £60 fine and three points on their licence for having a defective tyre.
l Two drivers were fined £30 for driving without wearing a seatbelt.
l Police issued four section 59 warnings to off-road bikes.
l A 22-year-old man from Widnes was arrested on Common Road for possession of cocaine. He was bailed to reappear at St Helens Police Station on June 8.
l Two men, aged 22 and 29, were arrested for being drunk and disorderly on Maple Avenue. They were issued with £80 fixed penalty notices.
