A SOAP star has been helping teenagers across Warrington shape their futures.

Carley Stenson, better known as Steph Dean in Hollyoaks, joined education leaders to promote a new scheme that will change the education system.

Parents were invited to attend the Wayahead event at The Halliwell Jones Stadium last week to hear about changes to the school exam system. At the two-day event they were also told about a new scheme that lets students search and apply for courses online.

The Hollyoaks star also starred in a short film that will be shown to schoolchildren.

Carley said: "I'm delighted to support a project that really helps young people across Warrington. Wayahead will support teenagers make the right choices when planning their futures."

Wayahead is an all-encompassing scheme for young people to find out more about chances to train across Warrington.

Denise Conroy, project manager, said: "This is a new and exciting initiative for young people which makes it quicker and easier for them to find out about all the training opportunities in the area."
