A PRIMARY school in Newton is leaving behind a Victorian past for a 21st century future.
Lyme Community Primary School will undergo a massive transformation to convert the outdated school into a modern purpose built facility.
Work on the £2.3 million project has just started and will eventually replace the Victorian building and four temporary classrooms that are currently used for teaching. Contractors are now on site with the new school scheduled to open early next year and a billboard by the school shows what the new building will look like when it opens.
