A WAR veteran was honoured for his time in action with a prestigious military badge.
John Taylor, aged 77, was presented with the war Veterans Badge on Saturday - the 200th to be awarded in the UK - for his time in the armed forces from 1948-50.
Lord Doug Hoyle, former Warrington North MP, made the presentation.
Mr Taylor, of Nora Street, Howley, said: "I was very pleased to receive this recognition.
"Let's face it, I was 18-years-old serving in Malaysia, it was hard.
"I'm going to wear it every day now."
The Veterans Badge was launched in May 2004 and has been given to veterans of the First and Second World Wars.
More recently it has been extended to troops who served in the armed forces until 1969.
