RUGBY fans in Lymm had a double reason to cheer on Saturday.
Because members of Lymm Rugby Club had the chance to cheer on former charge Dave Strettle at a special party.
The club won a prize of a party for 250 people and a flat screen TV for the clubhouse to mark the final day of the RBS 6 Nations.
Simon Plumb, communications officer at Lymm RUFC, said: "We are absolutely delighted to win the RBS 6 Nations Party.
"Over the past few years we have tried to reach out to the community and this is a fantastic reward.
"David being capped is a wonderful endorsement of the system he has been through, having said that, he is a fantastic talent with a wonderful rugby future ahead of him."
The club won the contest after being selected from more than 1,000 entries across England and got to watch the last weekend of the 6 Nations including England's clash with Wales.
The inspiring poetic words of Claire Worswick clinched the prize for Lymm which also included new sporting equipment and a donation to a community project.
Among the panel of experts to choose the club was former England star Damian Hopley.
He said: "Local rugby clubs play such an important part in the community and to the sport itself. Lymm really stood out as a worthy recipient of the fantastic prize."
Lymm Rugby Club is in the process of a massive expansion plan.
