A CHARITY is looking for grandparents to help with research on grandparents dealing with sons or daughters involved with substance misuse.

Footsteps would like to hear from grandparents who have to look after their grandchildren because their sons or daughters have drugs or alcohol problem.

The research aims to find out what kind of services people would like, such as assistance from a specialist worker dealing with benefits, child protection and children's services.

It is being carried out by a University of Liverpool through its Interchange Project that matches students who want to do real research with community organisations that have a research project.

Footsteps is a charity supported by St Helens Council's Drug and Alcohol Action Team and Warrington Council's Drug Action Team.

Grandparents would need to fill in an anonymous, confidential questionnaire and even if you don't need support your views are still welcome.

To take part in the research please contact Dida Goode on 244524 or 07834476759, e-mail info@footstepsforfamilies.org or download the questionnaire from footstepsforfamilies.org.
