A GUNMAN is on the run after a man was shot in the leg.
The 31-year-old victim was shot when he answered the door at a house at Vulcan Close, Padgate, at 8pm last Thursday.
Armed police were called to the scene.
The man, who was treated at Warrington Hospital, is not believed to be in a serious condition.
A spokesman for Warrington Police said: "We believe this is not a random shooting but a targeted attack.
"We want to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident.
"We are appealing for witnesses and would like to reassure anyone who gives information that they will be offered the utmost support from the constabulary."
Another 31-year-old man at the same address was arrested on a drugs-related incident.
He was later released without charge.
