A WARRINGTON man has been fined £325 and banned for driving for three years after admitting drink driving.

Police were called out to the A550 Aston Hill near Queensferry in December last year to a report of a single vehicle accident.

They found a dark blue Vauxhall Astra near the Asda slip-road with its rear facing out into the carriageway and the front end badly damaged.

Asked if he had any valuables in the vehicle, the driver, Michael Paul Trebble, aged 27 of Longbarn Lane, Woolston, volunteered that there was a loaded air pistol in the boot.

He failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

It later emerged that he had 90 miligrammes of alcohol in his blood compared to the legal limit of 80.

Trebble admitted drink driving and possessing the loaded air pistol in a public place at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday.

Huw Roberts, defending, said that his client did not believe that he would have been over the limit, that it was a case of a man who lost control of his vehicle on the brow of a hill on a wet road and that there was nothing sinister about the air pistol.
