A CAR dealer has pleaded guilty to six counts of getting cash and cars by deception.

Steve Kingsbury operated online as A1autodeals from Unit 2 in Norman Street, Orford.

The 44-year-old, from Crofters Road, in Kirkby, admitted the offences and asked for two more to be taken into account at Warrington Crown Court on Friday.

He was charged with obtaining by deception: £800 for a caravan, a Land Rover Freelander from Raymond Morgan, £5,000 from Billy Smith, £5,000 from Darren Armstrong as a deposit for a Nissan, £4,000 from Raymond Morgan as a deposit for a Range Rover, and £600 from Emma Green as a deposit for a vehicle.

The two deals taken into consideration were worth a total of £12,250.

Judge Nicholas Woodward warned Kingsbury jail was likely because he had a previous conviction for a similar offence. He was granted unconditional bail until sentencing on March 26.

The court heard he is taking steps to repay the money.

The Crown Prosecution Service is investigating his finances to see if it is worth trying to seize anything under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
