A SHOP worker was bitten after trying to stop an audacious robbery attempt in Penketh.
Three men had gone into the Co-op shop on Warrington Road, Penketh, at 5pm on Thursday carrying large containers.
After pushing three members of staff away, they started loading cigarettes into the containers.
However, the three staff members, in particular a 19-year-old man, tackled the trio.
The 19-year-old was bitten and taken to hospital while two of the attackers escaped.
The other, a 24-year-old man from Halewood, was arrested and is currently helping police with their inquiries.
Detectives are looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the shop or seen the men.
