DOZENS of parents face an anxious wait after being told their children have missed out on places for their favoured high school.
A number of children in some primary schools have not been able to get their first choices when the places were revealed last week.
The Warrington Guardian understands parents in some schools in Grappenhall are especially unhappy after being told their youngsters have missed out on places at Lymm High School.
The school regularly tops the school league tables in the town.
Council bosses insist parents may still get their first choices.
One parent said: "It seems very unfair that some pupils are able to go to Lymm and some are being told to go elsewhere."
A small number of pupils who live in Grappenhall and attend St Wilfrid's Primary School, have not been successful in getting in to Lymm High School, the council had confirmed.
A council spokesman said that more places were expected soon and these would be allocated to children on the waiting list.
