PLANS to build a giant chicken farm in Croft have got residents in a flap.
The proposed laying farm containing 9,000 hens has sparked fears among people living in and near Spring Lane about the noise and smell.
They are also concerned about the increase in through-traffic making deliveries to the farm.
Croft Parish Council submitted an objection to Warrington Borough Council last week.
Peter Maines, of Springfield House Farm, is the applicant for the 23-acre, organic, free-range laying house.
No deadline for a decision has been announced by the council.
