WARNER Bros have shown interest in backing Penketh High School's second feature film.

The school has just filmed the final scene for its first film, Days.

And the American film giant has been so impressed, it is considering giving the second film support from the start, and giving it a commercial release.

The second film will be a science fiction flick set in Liverpool.

Once again it will star Penketh High School's pupils and residents from the area.

The plot will follow a girl who has an accident and a man who tries to steal her experiences.

"It's not going to be a sci-fi like Star Wars," said Jonathon Kay, one of the school's media technicians, who has been responsible for overseeing the camerawork.

The school is also awaiting word back from Warner on whether it will give Days a commercial release. The film is half-edited and a trailer is available on the school website.

The 90-minute feature was filmed from last summer to last month on a budget of £10,000.

Cast and crew are made up of pupils, teachers and members of the community. A premiere is due to be held at The Foundry church, in Lugsdale Road, on June 6.

The school is also planning to film a mini-series set in Honiton Square called The Square. Each episode will deal with different social topics.
