MEMBERS of Latchford Baptist Church are jetting off to Kenya to see first hand how their donations have helped.

The four members of the congregation will be heading out to the remote village of Uloma, in the Bondi district of Kenya, which the church adopted a year ago.

The idea came about as a member of the congregation, Joe Ager, was born in the village.

During the visit, the group will attend the official opening of a well that the church has helped to finance and which will benefit the entire community. They will also look for other projects that the church can help with.

Alan Critchley, one of the four who will be making the trip, said: "Fundraising has been very successful by the church members, friends and through other direct donations and we are pleased to say that the well will be completed this month.

"It is incredible that the borehole was dug by hand down to a depth of 106ft."

The group will fly out next week.
