THE 23rd Snowflake Ball took off with a bang at Mere Golf and Country Club as glitter cannons sparked off a night to remember.
All That Jazz was the evening's theme and the annual event attracted more than 500 diners who were later joined by another 100 revellers, helping to raise a record £35,000 for the NSPCC.
Appeals manager Alec Johnston said: "What a tremendous achievement. Our Jigsaw House in Macclesfield, Westminster House in Warrington and Rainbow House in Crewe along with so many children throughout Cheshire will benefit."
Compere for the evening was Radio DJ Darren Proctor, who kicked the night's fundraising off with a speed raffle and auction, with top prizes including a chauffeur driven drive around Cheshire in an Aston Martin.
Sassy jazz numbers were provided by newcomer Georgia Holland, as well as Dominic Halpin and the Honey Bs, and the evening was rounded off with a disco provided by nightclub DJ Steve Gadd, with supporters and volunteers dancing until the early hours.
Alec told partygoers: "You are breaking the silence of abuse for many hundreds of children and young people with your support."
The event was such a success organisers have set a target for next year of £50,000.
