RUGBY League fans will get the chance to quiz engage Super League match officials and sign up to become a match official themselves at a pioneering event in York on Wednesday 14th March 2007.
The RFL is staging a unique road-show in conjunction with York City Knights and the North Yorkshire Service Area at Heworth ARLFC (6.30pm for 7.00 pm start).
The event, which will be free to attend and is designed to attract new match officials to the sport while giving fans the opportunity to increase their awareness of the laws of Rugby League.
Paul Carr, the RFL's Match Officials Development Officer, said: "This is a tremendous opportunity for anybody curious about becoming a match official or with an interest in the laws of the game to get more involved with the sport.
"There will be a fun, an interactive element with those attending making judgments on various video highlights as well as being able to chat with some of today's leading match officials."
Former professional referees Dave Asquith, Dave Milburn and John Holdsworth will also be present alongside players from National League Two outfit York City Knights.
The evening will be MC'd by former Welsh international and BBC Radio Leeds commentator Ron Hill.
Anyone interested in becoming a Rugby League match official is encouraged to attend the road-show, where they can sign up for a Modified Games Match Officials' course due to be staged at Heworth ARLFC on Wednesday 21 March or other courses throughout the year.
